Hazing Penalty Ranges
All chapters are required to have a copy of the Bill of Rights and a copy of
the Policy Against Hazing in their chapter's file. It must be thoroughly
understood that any violation or any form of hazing will be dealt with according
to the rules, regulations, and stipulations thereof. With the full understanding
of the definitions of hazing and its many forms; it is further understood that
any form of a violation carries with it a penalty equal to that of the extent
and degree of the committed act (violations).
- One or more acts committed in violation
of the Policy Against hazing must be reported immediately
using the lines of protocol.
- One or more acts committed in violation
should be reported in writing giving dates, places of occurrences,
and participants involved and signed by a Notary Public.
- Individuals who either witness,
participate in, or who have knowledge of violations and fail to take
action by alerting appropriate responsible officials may be
subjected to disciplinary action.
Categories of Hazing and Penalties:
- Subtle Hazing incorporates the
acts of ridicule, humiliation, or embarrassment. Violation of this
form of hazing for the first offense a Warning will be given.
- Harassment Hazing includes any
form of either mental or physical abuse, or causative of undue
stress. Violation of this type will result in suspension each
individual participants or chapter if all members participated.
- Dangerous Hazing consists of
one or more life-threatening situations; health endangerment;
bodily harm which may result in a serious injury or death to the
individual. Violation of this type will result in either chapter
suspension or expulsion of the individual.

Other activities such as rushing, pledging under old guidelines
or failure to conform to new membership guidelines are
associated with hazing and will result in disciplinary actions.

Underground pledging, underground pre-pledging or pledging and
activities associated with illegal interest groups will not be
tolerated.

Either chapters or individual members doing any form of pledging
will be suspended.

In
addition, penalties could include either expulsion or legal
action to be taken against the either chapter or individual
members who either precipitated or participated in the act of
violation. The International Grand President determines the
assessment and determination of the extent of all violations.

Individuals who violate the
either New Membership Selection or Intake Procedures will be
held accountable and will be responsible for the damages.

Chapters who violate the
campus rules and who are suspended will have all activities
in the name of the sorority discontinued until all the
campus rights and privileges are restored.
Hazing Penalty Ranges:
The International Grand
President determines all disciplinary action for either individual
members or chapter violating either the Membership Selection or Intake
Process.
