Dear Applicant:
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January
16, 1920 by five young women attending Howard University in Washington,
D.C. Two of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s founding principles are to
encourage the highest standards of scholarship and to promote community
service.
Each year, Xi Zeta Zeta Chapter of San Jose, in
conjunction with the Xi Zeta Zeta Educational Foundation, offers
scholarships to outstanding African-American high school seniors in the
greater Santa Clara county area who exemplify excellence in academic
achievement and community service.
To be considered for the scholarship, you must meet
the following eligibility requirements:

Minimum GPA of 2.5
Z
Current transcript (must include Fall term
grades)
Z
Two letters of recommendation
Z
Personal essay
Z
Signature of Senior Guidance Counselor on
application
Selected
candidates will be interviewed on
February 15, 2010
in person before final selections are
made.
Your
application must be postmarked by
February 8, 2010. Applications that
are late or in-complete will not be considered for this scholarship
opportunity.
After final selections are made, scholarship recipients will be notified
by phone. Recipients are expected to be our guests at the Xi Zeta Zeta
Educational Foundation’s Finer Womanhood Recognition Event honoring them
on March 20, 2010, at the
Crown Plaza Hotel in Milpitas. Scholarship money will be mailed upon
receipt of proof of enrollment from the college or university that you
will be attending.
